Modernist Network Cymru (MONC) is a national modernist studies network. The network aims to bring together scholars and professionals working on modernism in Wales to encourage collaboration and communication.
The group includes, but is not limited to, the study of Welsh modernism. In order to be as inclusive as possible, we define modernism broadly as literary, artistic, musical and cultural responses to modernity, predominately (but not exclusively) in the first half of the twentieth century. We welcome members working on, and interested in, modernisms and modernity in all their geographical and cultural diversity.
Mae Rhwydwaith Moderniaeth Cymru (MONC) yn rhwydwaith cenedlaethol ar gyfer astudiaethau modernaidd. Nod y rhwydwaith yw dod ag ysgolheigion a gweithwyr proffesiynol sy’n gweithio ar foderniaeth yng Nghymru ynghyd i annog cydweithio a chyfathrebu.
Mae’r grŵp yn cynnwys, ond heb fod yn gyfyngedig i, astudio moderniaeth yng Nghymru. Er mwyn bod mor gynhwysol â phosibl, rydym yn diffinio moderniaeth yn eang fel ymatebion llenyddol, artistig, cerddorol a diwylliannol i foderniaeth, yn bennaf yn ystod hanner cyntaf yr ugeinfed ganrif (ond heb fod yn gyfyngedig i'r cyfnod hwnnw). Rydym yn croesawu aelodau sy’n gweithio ar foderniaethau a modernedd ac yn ymddiddori ynddynt, yn eu holl amrywiaeth ddaearyddol a diwylliannol.
